Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) has been awarded the Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS) award by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau Public Organization (TCEB). As a result, BITEC is ready to accelerate venue quality in the post-COVID-19 era by focusing on hygiene and technology as a leading MICE hub in the ASEAN region. Currently, BITEC is the first venue in Thailand with an area greater than 5,000 square meters that have been certified in all of its venues.
“BITEC is committed to developing services and facilities to meet the international MICE venue standards. We focus on personnel development through national and international training. Since 2015, we have been awarded certification badges by TCEB. The awards demonstrate our efforts to develop the centre. This year, we received two awards for our meeting rooms and exhibition halls. These exemplify our willingness to welcome organisers and visitors back to normalcy. Customers can be assured of BITEC’s safety standards throughout their use of the centre’s services.” said Chakkrin Angprateep, Sales Director, BITEC Exhibition and Convention Centre (BITEC).
In addition to the TMVS certification, which ensured that the centre’s safety, technology, service, and environmental management met international standards, BITEC has focused on developing its business by responding to TCEB’s policy to meet the changing needs of consumers during COVID-19. BITEC has joined the “MICE Hygiene (2HY)” campaign. This campaign has allowed BITEC to focus on organising safely during COVID-19, delivering hygiene standards, and emphasising hybrid meeting technology.
BITEC is one of the establishments in Thailand participating in the MICE Hygiene programme. This programme contributes to the improvement of MICE venues in Thailand, particularly in the next normal era. MICE businesses must focus on providing well-equipped venues and services and enhancing digital technology to meet international standards and changing lifestyles and needs of organisers where safety and hygiene are among the top challenges. Since 2020, BITEC has been aware of the need for surveillance and has followed D-M-H-T-T strict prevention to contain the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, the company launched the HYBRID MEETING SOLUTION service to increase the confidence of organisers, exhibitors and attendees from domestic and international countries. These are the principles to which BITEC adheres to achieve the long-term goal of becoming one of the leading MICE venues in the ASEAN region.
The TMVS Emblem is regarded as the highest standard certification for MICE venues in Thailand. It certifies MICE operators’ location and international standards, considering physical technology, service and sustainable management. The ISO Accreditation Institute issues the formal accreditation, Office of Industrial Product Standards (SOM), Ministry of Industry, and is based on the TIS 22300 (ISO022300) security management system for meetings, seminars and exhibitions.
